Hey Tall Ones, We Are Tired

In the beginning, we are thrust into life a blank slate.

The tall ones in our life dote on us and encourage us to explore the world around and within, small as it is to our brand new consciousness.

Our minds transcend any preconception that the tall ones have.
We are able to explore sound, sight, touch, and emotion freely as the tall ones cannot tell what is going on.

As the years progress and we become able to vocalize our experiences and desires, only then do we comprehend how misunderstood we are by the tall ones.

Where once we could dream beyond care, the tall ones now tell us we cannot dream like that.

We can no longer be open with them about our true nature.
We cannot discuss that which is not part of their normal.

So, we close that off and deny ourselves the freedom to be true.
Chains of our own making bind us so we can survive.
No lock or key can be found as they are hidden by the will of the tall ones.

As time moves on the chains get tighter as they were not intended to expand, only restrict.
If we dare complain our words are met with doubt and denial, so we bury ourselves away and pretend to be a person we are not.

Some of us do not make it past this suppression of self.

We deny ourselves to the point that we begin to accept the shell we have made around our truth.
Or, we take a shorter path and end the suffering of the tight chains imposed upon us for so long.

Some of us are lucky and we discover the chinks and weak spots in the chains that we made.

And we break free of them.

We choose to shed the lie that we were told to put in front of society and live our truth.
We are fortunate ones, and though we have broken free some of the tall ones continue their attempt at oppression, many times at our peril.

We are tired.

Tired of fighting,
Tired of defending our existence,
Tired of the blame that covers up the evil of others
Tired of being afraid.
