Make the Sacrifice Interpretation
Many of us see sacrifice as giving something up permanently and this is just not the case.
However, it comes in many forms like giving an offering of food from your meal to the gods, or giving your time to a cause.
Sometimes, it means cutting something out of your life that is causing you harm, or is harming those around you.
Though the imagery of this Messenger is very dark and foreboding, your sacrifice does not have to be so.
Remember, sacrifice does not mean death and is not permanent. Perhaps you just need to give something up for a time for what ever reason.
If it is more comfortable for you think of this as a message to give something up, even for a short time, for the benefit of you and others.
